Room to make a big success
Yes, my 90's country peeps, The Chicks were my girls! Last weekend I was able to live out a girlhood dream through the click of my camera and took my first ever horse shoot. My preferred photo style is editorial and I'm trying to make my portfolio reflect that love. I wanted horse, nature, flowy dress, cowboy boots, and the dreamy shots that would come from a 90's country music video. For my first time working with a horse model I'd say the images captured were a success! I have another shoot this coming weekend with another horse and so far this will have even more personalization. I love details as they not only create unique images for the client but further add to the story within each image.
In the future I'd love to have the horses among wildflowers, near a stream, or even added to wedding photos. Picture it, a multicolored horse wading through a calm stream with the rider's dress train trailing down the side of the horse and the edges grazing the water. Then the rider leaning back, hands stretched behind with a dramatic veil covering the face and dragging in the water as they continue on their journey. The wildflower look could have our horse with braids and flowers decorating the hair of the horse and the rider. For a wedding session with horses it would be stunning to be in a winter scene with snow and the bride bundled up in a vintage fur coat, white lacy dress hanging off of the horse or almost blending into the snow....I could go on and on with the different looks that can be curated from these sessions.
For those interested, for now a 45 minute session will include 25 edited images available for digital download from an online gallery for $80. If travel time is greater than 45 minutes than a $20 traveling fee will be added to the session price. It's much easier to do the sessions if the photos on the horse are done first and if rider works with horse prior to my arrival. Any other concerns or questions please message me. Reminder, I'm new to horse photography so if I need to know something specific to you and your horse please inform me!
If one of the sessions I described is something you'd love to do, then let me know and we can do a discount price! I have certain shots that I want captured for my photography portfolio to share so these are highly desired by me.
I didn't share much on the blog today, but in the future this is where I will come to share my photography thoughts, dreams, and finished products. So please continue to visit and see where I go with this journey! Thank you for the quick read!
